Valuing Fatherhood

The Valuing Fatherhood project is funded through the Communities for Children initiative as part of the Federal Government Stronger Families and Communities strategy,

This project covers the communities of Murray Bridge, Mannum, Tailem Bend and Callington.

The Valuing Fatherhood project promotes the importance that positive fathering can have in the development of children in the early years. (0-5)

The project is due to commence in approximately April 2007. it will include a variety of activities for fathers in all the communities and in the Aboriginal Community. These may include:

  • Fathers Groups
  • "Me & My Dad" Play based activities for kids and Dad's together.
  • "Being Dad's" exploring ways of being Dad's
  • "Dad's can do" Dad's coming together to do things in and for their community & celebrate the role of Dad's in the community.
  • Creating positive images in our communities of fatherhood
  • working with early childhood agencies to make it easier for Dad's to be involved
