A good lunch provides children with essential nutrients. Often the dilemma for parents is how to provide a variety of choices for lunches. It’s important to provide a variety of foods from all of the food groups including breads, fruits, vegetables, and dairy and meat products.....

Try any of these combinations for a nutritious lunch box:
Take (any one) Add (any combination) And serve with
Chicken pieces green beans bread slices
cold rissoles carrot sticks pieces of French stick
hard boiled eggs celery bite size pieces of pocket bread
small cup of baked beans (with spoon) capsicum sticks crumpets
cheese pieces tomato wedges pikelets
leftover pizza lettuce leaves whole-wheat crackers
leftover quiche pineapple slices
chopped nuts dried fruits


As Well as:

Small cartons of milk, yoghurt, fruit juices, or water can be frozen and added to the lunch. This will also help keep food cold.

You may think of other combinations of foods that suit you and your family.
