The Aboriginal Health Team at Murray Mallee Community Health Service encourages their clients to be self-sufficient when needing support such as food, clothing and transport.
Aboriginal community members must be clients of Murray Mallee Community Health Service to receive support of any kind (e.g. transport and Aboriginal Housing Support letters). We are currently under review with these services to the community, due to new staff.
As we only have a few health workers, we are going to review the services that we provide to the community to make it a more fair and equitable service for all of the Aboriginal community within our region.
We ask that you please be patient as we will be going through new and sometimes difficult ways of working, but we will keep the Aboriginal community up to date as things progress.
The Aboriginal Aged Care Team have their own policies on transport etc. David Crompton is the Aboriginal Aged Care Co-ordinator. You can contact Darryl on (08) 8535 6800 (MMCHS) or (08) 8552 0600 (Southern Fleurieu).
If you have any ideas or enquiries please feel free to ring William Wilson, Practice Leader for Aboriginal Health on (08) 8535 6800.
