Our women's health workers have a broad range of skills that are shared throughout the community. Their work often involves taking part in health awareness campaigns, educational talks, participation in community development projects and support for local community initiatives.

Jan Brand - Senior Women's Health Worker

Jan works full time and as a part of women's health, provides a counselling service to women only.

Jan is also developing a major project on violence including interpersonal violence and organisational interventions.

Jan has had extensive experience both as a counselor and working in rural and remote communities.

She has a broad perspective on women's health issues and is involved in various committees including the Domestic Violence Action Group.

Carla Vicary - Community Development Worker

Carla's focus is working with women to establish networks, groups and support for women across the Murray Mallee. She works with a range of individuals and communities including:

  • Italian
  • Turkish
  • Filipino
  • Breast Cancer support groups across the region
  • International Women's Day
  • Women and mental health (Galaxy)
  • Supporting community initiatives
  • Health promotion

Yvonee Thomson - Community Health Nurse

Yvonne's focus is on addressing health and lifestyle issues from a wholistic perspective. Information on a wide range of women's health issues is available from Yvonne who can be contacted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:

  • Pregnancy options
