The Murray Bridge Soldiers' Memorial underwent an organisation wide survey by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards in December 2005 and achieved accreditation status for four years.

Accreditation is a significant achievement as it serves as a sign to the community that the hospital is committed to ensuring safety and quality for all care and services.

Some of the surveyors comments were:

  • "The Murray Bridge Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is an asset to its community and the staff can be proud of the service they provide"
  • "We are very impressed with the quality culture in the organisation"

All recommendations from the survey were 'Low' priority and included:

  • Consideration be given to the creation of more car parks near the entrance of the hospital so that visitors are not required to negotiate sloping ground between the hospital's entrance and their cars.
  • Include consumer representation in the evaluation and development of services as a matter of routine.
  • All results of radiation safety tests to be forwarded to the Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Committee for consideration.

The next survey will be a periodic review in December 2007.
